The iNSEQUENCE Process

Clarity up front is
sanity down the line.

Why do so many residential renovation projects go off the rails?

If you ask a client, the contractor overlooked something.

If you ask a contractor, the budget was too tight.

Both are usually right.

In the end, it's usually not a people problem, it's a process problem. There was no clear plan tying scope, budget, and timeline together from the start.

This is the exact kind of problem our method is set to solve.

We guide you through a structured, step-by-step process that eliminates duplicated efforts, reduces decision fatigue, and gives you full clarity up front — so you're not stuck settling for good enough just to get it over with.
01

Scope creep nobody saw coming

The quote was for a kitchen remodel. By week five, the living room is a mess, the budget is shot, and nobody agreed to any of it in writing.

02

Decision fatigue mid-build

Choosing tile, fixtures, and finishes while contractors are waiting on you is a pressure cooker. Decisions made under stress are rarely the ones you're proud of later.

03

No visibility into what's happening

Contractors go quiet. You look around your house and can't tell if everything's on track. You're spending five, six figures and you're not even 100% sure of what you're getting and when.

How we work

Four phases. Zero surprises.

Phase 1

Consultation

Every project starts the same way, with a conversation about your home. We don't do guesstimates.

1

Discovery Call

A focused 30-minute call to understand your goals and your timeline, with a conversation about a high-level investment range.

2

In-Home Consultation

We schedule a visit to your home to build out a scope of work. This serves as your blueprint towards a successful project. We'll discuss your must haves, wants and concerns in detail, review existing layout and site conditions, and recommend suggestions not to be overlooked.

3

Preliminary Plan Review

Everything from the consultation comes back to you as a clear picture — your priorities, recommended approach, realistic investment range, and your options laid out plain and simple. We review it together over Zoom so you can ask questions before you commit to anything. For aging-in-place and accessibility renovations, this serves as your Home Readiness Plan.

Phase 2 15–25% of projected budget  ·  30% if building permits required

Pre-Construction

Traditionally, contractors write estimates on pen and paper. Newer contractors skip this phase entirely. We guide you in making all the big decisions up front, so your project never stalls waiting on a decision mid-build, where lost minutes turn into lost days and unexpected bills.

Architectural drawings and permit on a table
Interior design material selections — tile samples and finish boards
  • You're introduced to your dedicated Project Manager — your one point of contact from this point on
  • Your client portal is set up and ready before construction begins — track progress, approvals, and project updates from anywhere
  • We coordinate with required professionals: architects, engineers, designers, and occupational therapists
  • Your documentation package is produced in full: permit plans, proposed floor plans, interior design concepts, 3D renderings, elevations, and as-built plans delivered at project completion
  • On select full home and condo remodels, a VR walkthrough of your space before construction begins
  • Scope, material selections, and future-proofing options are finalized and signed off
  • Your fixed-cost estimate is finalized and signed off
  • We prepare your project charter, the document that puts our deliverables in writing
  • We pull permits (as needed) and schedule required inspections before the work begins
The goal: No loose ends before construction starts. We don't build on assumptions. We build on confidence.
Phase 3 Fixed budget — no hidden costs

Construction

When the build starts, you know the budget, the schedule, and who to call with questions. Our job from here on out is rather simple: execute the plan and loop you in so you're not stuck chasing anyone down for answers.

Active tidy renovation jobsite, tile installation in progress
  • Build schedule, milestones, and crew availability confirmed with you before day one
  • Material lead times reviewed upfront to prevent delays and unnecessary disruption in your home
  • Approved materials ordered, in-house crews reserved, and specialty trade partners coordinated ahead of time
  • Weekly progress updates sent every Tuesday by 12PM
  • Monthly site walks and Zoom reviews scheduled throughout the build
  • On full home and condo remodels, five milestone walkthroughs together: Post-Demo, Electrical, Tile Installation, Finishes, and Final
  • Internal QA/QC reviews held before each phase closes — problems caught before they're buried
  • Photo and video documentation of everything behind walls, ceilings, and floors
  • Internal punch-list completed by our team before we hand the space back over to you

A private client portal, your eye in the sky, gives you and your family behind-the-scenes access to your build, anytime and from anywhere in the world.

The goal: a build that runs the way it should, leaving you to run your life without a second thought.
Phase 4 Included

Estate Care

Most contractors consider the job done when the painters finish and the cleaners show up. We approach things a little differently. After the build, your home moves into our Estate Care phase — a structured post-construction program that protects your investment and the home you love.

  • Final quality check by our team before we cut the ribbon on the job
  • 30-day inspection period to surface and resolve anything that appears after you move back in
  • 2-year written warranty on workmanship and materials, in plain language, not fine print
  • One less thing to remember — we check in at 6 and 18 months to make sure your home is performing as expected
  • Priority response for future maintenance requests and emergency service calls
  • We request a Google review and arrange professional photography if you're happy with the experience — your feedback helps other families make improvements in their homes
The goal: you shouldn't have to wonder if your contractor will be around in 2 years to honour your 2-year warranty. We stand behind our work — in writing, and in practice.
Clarity in Construction

There are only two kinds of home renovations.

The difference between a project that goes sideways and one that exceeds every expectation isn't luck, it's structure. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Renovations Without a Process Renovations with a Process
Eyeballs pricing — estimates that miss the mark Detailed consultations to understand your full scope before quoting
Gambling with your money — budgets that balloon Fixed budget that matches the full scope of work
Decision fatigue and project burnout Decisions curated and presented by our team of professionals — for your approval
Chasing the contractor down for updates Written project updates every Tuesday by 12PM
Cutting corners behind the walls Photo and video documentation before closing walls, ceilings and floors
Rushing off to the next job before the job is done 30-day punch list inspection period — and a holdback payment that aligns our interests with your own
Fuzzy warranty terms that disappear when you need them most Written 2-year workmanship warranty, in plain language
Ready to start

It all starts with a phone call.

Tell us about your home. We'll follow up within one to two business days — no pressure, no sales pitch. Just an honest conversation about your home and all the possibilities.
